Mass Effect 3 Effective Military Strength - EMS
I would like to eventually set up a scripted page with multiple checkboxes and multiple levels of collapsing menus. Feel free to post suggestions and additional information on my talk page. GRPeng 19:29, March 25, 2012 (UTC)
ME3
The Demo runs silky smooth and no crashes. The only problem is the bugs with taking cover. If the full game runs this smooth, I am going to have to look for deals on a 2560 x 1600 display. GRPeng 18:00, February 24, 2012 (UTC)
Old ME2 notes
Finally decided to create an account after relying on this site so much for Mass Effect and a few others. Been a pretty solid gamer since Doom 3 came out but did not grow up with a controller in my hand.
Currently playing through ME2 first time as an Adept without importing any characters just to see what it is like. Dislikes: only 50 saves?!?, money is sooo tight the first time through, only 24 shots with the Carnifex before you have to grovel for thermal clips, the developers still have a hard on about forcing squad mates into harms way when the bosses come out. :^p 09/20/2010
Okay, second time through ME2 and money is still pretty tight. ZOMGWTFBBQ! _ONLY_ 50 saves really, REALLY! sucks considering how buggy the program is. I have had to delete about 30 hours of playing time due to limited saves the second time through because of mistakes I made in squad-choices/plot-development (yeah, technically my fault, but still...). I triggered the Collector Ship mission before I had bought/found many upgrades, and I picked the wrong squad-mates/powers to max out. In ME1 I would save before I updated squad points or leave the last save point right before finishing a mission. Having 50 saves means I only get about 45 total save points because I like to have 4 different save points in the active mission, about every other Auto Save point. It would not be as much of a problem if there was a way I could collapse/renumber saves instead of having to blast down through the whole stack to get rid of the chaff. I will have to look into if using the Console lets me name my own saves when I import ME1 characters. Having to keep track of 46 saves named "Normandy SR-2" in a text file is turning out to be a real PITA.
It looks like my problem with the Herding Suicidal Kittens squad AI is a bug-not-feature. It seemed like fighting certain bosses with the "wrong" squad mates would make them run into fire and die in 10 seconds on Hardcore/Insanity, and restarting with a different lineup fixed it. I had nearly identical problem frequently in ME1. Now it seems restarting the mission with the same people works fine. It could be that going to a slightly earlier save before getting to the boss fixes the bugs, I have not been able tell exactly why it happens yet, because I have been forced to be so stingy with how many save points I can create in a mission. Quitting/restarting could be a fix. Still have frequent problems with the squad deciding to stand on the wrong side of cover, especially on the Collector Ship. And I wish the squad would not group back up with me if they just barely go off map/radar, but there are lots of games that force this. 9/29/2010
Just hit another WTF. I finish 'Tali: Treason,' go delete the saves to compact the file and the 45k credits I earned on the mission seems to have disappeared. I only have ~36k credits now and it should be ~81k. That money was going to allow me to buy the last upgrade in the game, 'Assault Rifle Damage' in Gateway on Illium (I did not buy 'Bypass Module' or 'Hack Module). I still have 80k coming from 'Reaper IFF' and 'Legion: A House Divided' so I am going to skip it since I don't want to spend the time to do 'Treason' again since this is my 'Insanity' playthrough. 10/03/2010
