About me

first, if anyone wants to point me to layout help guides for wikia, drop me a line.

Hi. My name is Alex. I'm 22, soon to be 23. I've got the games on both PC and X360. I'm waiting to get money and time to go to the Liverpool branch of Forbidden Planet and buying the ME comics. (the online retailers never have it in stock - WH Smith refunded my money after 5 days because they couldn't get Redemption.) I've got the books, too. Um. Other stuff:

I'm into:

Star Trek
I used to be really into it, now it's just like, 'if they make a show, I'll watch it, but no promises'. I liked season 4 of Enterprise the most, pretty much like every other fan of the show. And hated the finale (both length and THEY KILLED TRIP)
Star Wars
I liked The Phantom Menace. Don't throw things at me, I did. I hated AOTC and ROTS. good effects.... but "holy moley where's the mind-bleach" acting.
Stargate
Loved SG-1. Liked Atlantis. Like Universe. Hate siffy shanel.
Season 6 and 7 of SG-1 was one of the better seasons. Okay, no Daniel, but I liked Jonas Quinn, at least he played a decent character. Marty Sue as he was. Season 8 - wait, 20 not 22 episodes? It was supposed to be 'less O'Neill', but trick of the story and filming schedules sure made me wonder 'I thought he was having a reduced presence this season'. Season 9, Okay, Mitch and Vala. Meh on the latter, for now. It's, alright. Not fan of the Ori plotline. And Teal'c, whats with the hair? Season 10 was good, but I've only watched 19 of the 20 episodes once. Yes, I did watch 200 more than once. It's Awesome, though. Loved Ark of Truth. Teal'c's Crowning, er, Moment, of Awesome: Walking from the high mountains, all the way to the Ori temple in the middle of nowhere a long way away, with a slow-fatal wound. And he still survived. Booyeh, that's awesome. As awesome as Garrus surviving a missile to the Face.
My favourite character: Sam. She's accomplished thusly: Blew up a sun. Double-killed two ships using naught but a stargate and a bomb. I mean, how awesome is that? Boom there goes the wraith hive, and a second later, kawoosh the Ori mothership into 2 pieces, 3 million lightyears away.
Atlantis, like I said. I liked. But that they didn't up from 20 to 22 episodes after SG-1 ended (Concurrent production for seasons 1-3 of SGA, 8-10 of SG1) which kinda made it 'awe crap'. Also, Shephard, p-h here, was a bit of an O'neill wannabe, with a past that was probably boring, given they only explored it, what, once? With O'Neill, we got: the mission he had to live through over and over with the game machine, his kid shot himself with Jack's own gun hence his suicidal tendancy in the first film, issues with one officer who comes riding in to save the SGC after the base is affected by a black hole they're connected to, and issues with another guy because of an old mate that jack didn't know was a traitor, and that they prefered to take the blame for friendly-fire than to let the traitors' wife who was entirely innocent in things from not having the support etcetera. John Shephard (really, that's his name in the show) had, what, an ex-wife and I cna't remember anything else, he was that boring.
Sorry, got carried away. Season 1 - Meh. 2, Ronan's good. 3, right at the end of the season, a 'OMG you killed kenny' moment, only without the next-episode return. 4 - Sam's on the show! and a brilliant Ronan/Teal'c fight, both versus each other in the gym and against the Wraith afterward. "Indeed." "You say that a lot." "I hadn't noticed."
I like Universe. I get that they wanted a different tone to it, and that it's not as clear cut as the SGC Vs Kinsey thing was. But I got to say, Eli is my favourite character by far. I'd expected Rush to be my fav. (familiar with the actor as he's british and I'm a brit). As one of the characters said, in Twin Destinies: "He's arguably the smartest person I've ever met." keep getting brody and volker confused. and hey, he's a Gamer, like us!
Battlestar Galactica (RDM)
I hated how they ended it. "Wait, they're our ancestors?" - they pulled a Star Wars. 'A long long time ago'. pffft, seriously? But the show, wow. I mean, just.... wow.
Babylon 5
Few continuity errors. Terrible CGI (they rendered at 640x480, which given the actual dimensions of Pal/NTSC,...) I think a blu-ray remastered edition requires completely replaced CGI. The Lost Tales' version of B5 was shweet.
Alias
Favourite character? Will Tippin. No seriously, this is one guy who TookALevelInBadass during Season 2, and was more worthy of Sydney's love, I think. So you can imagine, I wooted in his guest appearance of season 3.
Firefly
Oh sweet Serenity, how I hate what Fox did to you. The film is Awesome, too bad it didn't do to well at the box office.
Eureka
Stopped watching after the first few episodes of season 4. I dunno, I guess I just didn't like the new direction of the timeline shift thing. I know they played with the concept for season 2, but at least there it was that a future timeline was averted within the episode it was first shown, and season 2 had the only one who remembered it struggling with that it meant the love of his life had to be sacrificed to save the world.
Red Versus Blue.
"MY NAME IS MICHAEL J. CABOOSE AND I HATE BABIES!!!" - Caboose
This is a very good series, all 8 seasons of RVB is comedy gold, with the last 2 using CG Motion capture for ahm, 'fist-fight' scenes.
"Worst. Throw. Ever." - Agent Washington
I think my favourite character has to be Caboose. He's so dumb he's Awesome.
"I'm sorry, I can't hear you over your team-killing."
How about the time that The Ghost of Church timetravelled multiple times, and one of those times ended up responsible for allowing a team-mate to actually kill him?
"Friendly fire... friendly fire off. Hey, I might not die now." - Church
"Friendly fire has been deactivated. Friendly Targets can now be targetted" - Sheila the Tank
"Oh crap."
